Documents on Bill C-13 Heavily Censored

17:00 Jun 20 2014 Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Description
The Toronto Star received heavily censored documents in response to an access to information request for files related to Bill C-13, with many key phrases blocked out, such as "Government of Canada." Despite officers at the Department of Safety claiming that the parts were censored because they contained confidential advice, the Toronto Star discovered that the same documents were available online, completely uncensored. The government has responded that censoring the documents was an error on the part of the public servant in charge of the case.
