West Hants, Nova Scotia bans recording of public meetings

Description

The Municipality of West Hants Council, in Nova Scotia has introduced a new policy relating to taking of photos or using recording devices during open to the public council meetings. Their new policy states, "audio and video and the taking of photos by any device will not be allowed during meetings without the permission of council". Two lawyers so far have stated that in their opinion, this is a violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
