Kinder Morgan accused of SLAPP suit against Burnaby Mountain protesters

The BC Supreme Court courts have ruled against throwing out an alleged SLAPP suit filed by Kinder Morgan against Burnaby Mountain protester Alan Dutton. Kinder Morgan had filed a civil suit against Dutton and four other members of Burnaby Residents Opposing Kinder Morgan Expansion (BROKE), seeking 5.6 million in damages for what they claim to be trespass and assault during the protests. While the four other members settled out of court, Dutton has been outspoken that this is a SLAPP suit and filed a motion to get the suit dismissed.
