Activist Jaggi Singh, who was arrested at the Toronto G20 protests in June 2011, has been banned from "organizing, participating in or attending any public demonstrations." Singh was charged with criminal conspiracy in relation to the protests, and plead guilty to encouraging those in attendance to tear down a security fence. Singh did not face additional jail time but his ban on participating in public demonstrations was upheld. PEN Canada has released a statement supporting an appeal on this ban.
