High school students suspended for protesting dress code

15:29 Nov 21 2014 Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada

Description
A group of Fredericton High School students were suspended from school, and barred from extracurricular activities, after they staged a protest against the dress code at their school. The group was lead by the Fredericton Youth Feminists, who believed that the dress code was sexist and encouraged rape culture. The group staged a walk-out during the school day. Principal Shame Thomas said that the students were not being punished for protesting but had violated the "positive learning workplace" policy of the school.
